It is my privilege to welcome you to Majura Primary School. Built in 1963, the school lies among the beautiful green suburb of Watson in Canberra’s inner north, the traditional land of the Ngunnawal people. Students learn here in an inclusive and caring environment that respects them as individuals and helps them develop as responsible and contributing citizens.
The content of the learning program at Majura Primary is informed by the Australian Curriculum and in the preschool by the Early Years Learning Framework. Our pedagogy is guided by our shared commitment to provide a quality education which supports our students to be culturally sensitive global citizens who enjoy learning, make friends, and establish connections within the community.
Learning at Majura Primary is underpinned by our values of Responsibility, Excellence and Respect. We use these values to guide our behaviours, and staff work together to develop the potential of every student through strong relationships and a commitment to students' personal learning goals.
We offer all our students enrichment of the classroom program through our specialist Music, Arts, Sustainability, French and Kitchen Garden specialist programs.
Majura is very much a community school. One of our key features is the significant investment of parents and the wider community to ensure our students receive the best education possible. We encourage your engagement in the education process.
If you would like to visit the school or chat with me about what we can offer you and your child, please phone or email the school.
