P & C

Majura Primary School has an active Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association, which plays a valuable role at our school.

The Majura Primary School P&C has two major functions. The P&C is dedicated to fundraising activities to supplement the school's capacity to provide additional facilities for the students. Funds raised by the P&C are channelled to a number of areas, some being educational, some being fun activities and some being for the comfort and well-being of the students.

In addition, the P&C works with the School Board and the staff in identifying learning issues and social issues affecting students and teachers. These issues can be advanced by the P&C independently, referred to the School Board or referred to the ACT Council of P&C Associations for a Canberra wide or national response.

The P&C is made up of parents and friends of the school who have an interest in advancing educational and social issues on behalf of the students. The P&C meets twice per term at 7.00pm in the staffroom. The meetings are advertised in the weekly Newsletter, and on the front door of the school. All are welcome.

A highlight of every year is the P&C's Spring Carnival held in September or October. Through the P&C the school has become very well resourced in all areas of the curriculum. Our delightful grounds continue to be enhanced through the work of the P & C.
